Scottish Independence petition

Click here to sign a Scottish independence petition

FOR 300 YEARS SCOTLAND HAS BEEN RULED BY A FOREIGN LAND, ENGLAND. I LIKE MANY BELIEVE IT IS TIME WE BECAME A NATION ONCE AGAIN.

WE SHOULD REMOVE OURSELVES FROM THE UNION AND BECOME INDEPENDENT SO WE DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR SUCH THINGS AS; THE MILLENNIUM DOME; THE 2012 OLYMPICS; TONY BLAIR'S £5M TRAVEL BILLS.

WE SHOULD BE IN CONTROL OF OUR OWN LAND, OUR OWN RESOURCES, OUR OWN COUNTRY!!!

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, CALL ON THE SNP GOVERNMENT OF SCOTLAND TO ACT NOW AND MAKE SCOTLAND INDEPEDENT AGAIN.

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, WILL TAKE ANY COURSE OF ACTION TO MAKE SURE WE ARE FREE.

Scottish Independence petition

Click here to sign the petition

To: The Scottish Government

We demand that Scotland becomes a full sovereign Independent country. We demand this because we don't believe the unionist lies of Labour and believe that Scotland would be a wealthier, healthier, smarter, safer & more just nation with Independence.

Scotland is being held back under the UK! We want Scotland to do what Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, and Andorra have all done (with either similar or even smaller populations to Scotland) and to MOVE FORWARD and create a better future for everyone!

We will make our voice be heard and we will demand Independence & Freedom for Scotland!! The Scottish people have a right to self determination & have the right to decide our nations future in a referendum to allow the people of Scotland to vote for a new beginning for Scotland with Independence!!

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Declaration of Arbroath 1320

Tomorrow sees the anniversary since the signing of The Declaration of Arbroath April 6th 1320.

The Declaration of Arbroath is without doubt the most famous document in Scottish history. Like the American Declaration of Independence, which is partially based on it, it is seen by many as the founding document of the Scottish nation. It was drafted on the 6th April 1320 - a day the United States of America has declared to be Tartan Day.

The Declaration is a Latin letter which was sent to Pope John XXII in April/May 1320. It was most likely drafted in the scriptorium of Arbroath Abbey by Abbot Bernard on behalf of the nobles and barons of Scotland. It was one of three letters sent to the Pope in Avignon, the other two being from King Robert Bruce himself and from four Scottish bishops, attempting to abate papal hostility. The document received the seals of several Scottish barons and it then was taken to the papal court at Avignon in France by Sir Adam Gordon.

The Declaration of Arbroath, under the extraordinary circumstances of the Wars of Independence, was a prototype of contractual kingship in Europe.

SNLA strike again

Another SNLA letter bomb campaign has triggered an alert and arrest according to a Daily Record story:

Exclusive: First Minister Alex Salmond targeted by 'letter bomber'

Mar 14 2009 By Keith Mcleod

ALEX Salmond was last night at the centre of a letter bomb scare.

Cops swooped on a suspected tartan terrorist after devices were sent to the First Minister and five other targets.

The Daily Record helped the police after taking a call from a man claiming to represent separatist terror group the Scottish National Liberation Army.

A 33-year-old man is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the alleged bomb campaign.

A force insider said: "This was no hoax. These devices were intended to cause fear and alarm. The man has been charged with sending various devices."

When he called the Record, the man said he had sent "letter bombs" to the First Minister at Edinburgh's Bute House, Lib Dem MSP Mike Rumbles, Glasgow City Chambers and the SNP's Edinburgh HQ.

He also claimed "devices" had been sent to two other unspecified targets in Scotland.

The man used a recognised code word during the call.

A source close to Salmond last night said there were no explosives in the letters but they had been designed to look like bombs.

Cops were called in and they last night raided a flat in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, where they arrested a 33-year-old man.

The Scottish Socialist Freedom Group has said:

"It is aware of traitors in the independence movement ranks from the SNP to their friends and supporters of constitutional liberal nationalism.

It is only a matter of time before Scotland experiences real armed resistance.

This is true where democracy is denied particularly a much needed referendum on independence.

The SSFG have said where there is knowledge of militant activity there should be silence. In other words don't talk to cops!"

The real campaigners for independence

The Scottish Socialist Freedom Group welcome support to the real republican socialist movement in Scotland. That a small group of individuals mainly in Glasgow posing as Scottish Republican Socialists do not represent the interests of those who wish for direct struggle against the British state. The individuals concerned have sold out to constitutional nationalism under the struggle for Scottish Freedom. Only by joining the real republican movement can we ever hope to strike at the heart of British imperialism.
