Am I the only one who is confused by Scottish democracy. The more voting we do the less like democracy it feels.
Did Scotland not have a democratic referedum to decide whether it wanted to stay part of the UK? Yes it did and yes it did, but oh what an outcry there was. But it was fair because that is how democracy works. That should have been the end of it, but oh no not in Scotland. Despite what we were told another independence vote was never far away.
Then we have the latest referendum, in or out the EU. Again another democratic vote and the UK voted out, that, like it or not includes Scotland because it chose to stay part of the UK, that's how democracy works.
So what I would like to try and understand is how just because the majority of Scotland voted remain in a referendum about Europe there is "a clear mandate" for a second independence referendum?
I would also like to understand why Scotland is so desperate to divorce itself from the UK but apparently happy marry into the EU?
If independence is the end game what does Scotland need Europe for?
